Small companies and microbusinesses accounted for around 80pc of the businesses. About 26% were involved in financial software development and system integration, 21% were in the data analysis and business intelligence business and 18% were in payment services. Close to 15% of the companies were active in investment, finance, and insurance. The rest were involved in blockchain and virtual payments, cybersecurity, and digital transformation consulting.
Combined annual turnover of Hungarian FinTech companies reached HUF 310 bln in 2022, climbing by over HUF 90 bln from a year earlier.
Headcount at local FinTech companies was over 9,000 in 2022.
